If going to Straight Talk, make sure the box the phone comes in is labeled CDMA-V if you want a phone that will run on the Verizon network. They also have phones labeled CDMA-S that run on Sprint.

Get the Straight Talk phone! Just remember when you are choosing the phone, you need to know which network is used for that phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy Precedent that works off the sprint towers. It has pretty good coverage. However my brother has a Samsung Prevail that works off the Verizon towers and the phone has more features.
I LOVE the Straight Talk system, been on it for over two years!

curious as to this roaming thing. cuz i never had a problem.
and even if i did. would it be MY fault???????
i'm a traveling man. if you don't got towers where i'm at. don't be blaming meeeeeeeeeeeeee
if i got a signal. i never knew i was roaming. if i don't have a signal. my phone sure as heck don't dial out. sprint or Vsquirrellsgnwild Thanks this. -
This is why sprint has ranked last in customer satisfaction rating the last several years...they also had more people drop sprint than Verizon & AT&T combined.

I've had a talk with them (Sprint) before. If they don't have service where I run how can I help it. They promised nationwide unlimited coverage. Not very good coverage I might say, but it worked. Just gives me a chance to upgrade

I would not recommend T-Mobile for trucking because the coverage in the Midwest and other "remote" areas is nonexistent. As soon as my contract is up I'll be moving to Verizon, as I hear that their coverage is the best. While T-Mobile is going to lower pricing with no contracts, it just isn't worth being out of touch for hours or even days on end.

We have used AT&T, it most generally has good connection. There might be a few places once in awhile where reception had dropped out when husband is on the road in the sticks out west, but it usually isn't that long of a period. They don't charge roaming fee.
They have several plans and if you have the family plan, it is pretty much live on the phone friendly. The data plan for laptop though is my problem since I use the air card. I upgraded to the 10gb share between 2 laptops and 3 phones so it is about $120.00 more and $15.00 for every 1gb over. I am bad, hate to see the bill this month, had several large downloads I did which ate it up. -
So I need to get another phone (I'm pretty much set on getting the wife an iPhone 5), and I've narrowed it down to three...
Google Nexus 4
Samsung GS3
Samsung Note 2
The thing that might lock in my choice is if the GN4 had SVDO. I really love being able to talk and serf at the same time. I know the Note does not (big bummer) but the other features make up for it.
