Don't do T-Mobile folks. Really bad coverage and lots of completely dead zones. I had them for my fist few months out here and it was a nightmare. Roaming DOES have a data cap of 100-200 mb regardless of what plan you are on. Stream Pandora while driving and you will find yourself out of roaming data when you need it the most. (First hand experience.) They throttle back your data speed at 2 gb on that no contract Unlimited plan. I had a grandfathered unlimited plan that throttled back at 5 GB and I hit that in a week. In fairness I do stream Netflix and Comcast to my TV during my 10 hr break. So I do use a lot of data....maybe you wouldn't hit the same ceilings that I did. I have had sprint since November last year and have minimal complaints so far. There are some network issues, but they are doing a major overhaul as they convert to LTE technology. I've been using about 25-30 gb of data since signing with them and they keep trying to figure out how....lol. I've confirmed that my contract is in good standing and cx service said that since they have no indication that I am sharing my data I am fine.

My EVO 4G LTE is a beast.......but I've done a couple mods to it. That NOTE2 does make me drool though...lol.
I can talk and be on the net simultaneously even under 3G. Sprint doesn't get it...and tech support told me that's impossible during a recent conversation with them. Currently I am working on a user enabled forced roam so that I can just stay on Verizon's network in some areas. Currently this is only available for a rooted phone and that just doesn't work for me. Lol. The biggest gripe I have with Sprint is that they have gotten pretty slick with their software updates. The most recent one from HTC was actually sprint controlled and they flashed some of their towers so that if you didn't update your phone stopped working. Clowns!

To roam on Verizon x just change your PRL to 56006. To force roam, I don't know how to without root. I've been on TM for over a week now and have used over 5gigs with no sign of throttling. Their HSPA speed is faster than what I have experienced with Sprint's LTE. TM's HSPA+ is almost as fast as Verizon's LTE. now they don't cover as much area with 3g as V or S, but I've had way better voice service than with s Sprint so far.

Yeah I wasn't real happy with TM either nor with that Windows8 phone I was using from them. Took everything back with in two weeks and closed the contract before it really got started. 2 months later, apparently I owe them 2 months of service and equipment charges. Just goes to show how important it is to save everything. Which stopped this fraudulent attempt at collection before it got started. 30 days to bring everything back. Good thing I hadn't dropped all my Verizon service. Paid one line off, started a new line and gave another to a friend and walked out of the store with a brand new Galaxy III. I will never-never look at T-Mobile again- just zip on coverage outside the metro areas.

I Had MetroPCS when I was OTR and I had covarage and Data most everywere except Dodge City. Only 3g when roaming but I got a free app to bypass the built in tether and use 3g for my laptop.

There has been a tethering app as long I can remember. I used it back when data was unlimited until one attempted to use it with a laptop or palm device. I belive it was Easy Tether and is still around. Worked great. With Verizon now though it doesn't matter anymore since one can either tether or use the phone's hot spot feature. I ended upgrading my data plan to 30gb a month. And I use it to. Pricey as hell though- no doubt about it.

Just tossing in on this... you don't want T-Mobile. They have great service as long as you're in or near a major metro area. Unfortunately, we run in the boonies. A lot. Let's take Wyoming. If you get broken down on the road near say Lusk, you can forget about calling Road Assist... the folks you need to advise you on how to get going again. There's zero service out there for T-Mobile.

You're going to have to be making certain check-calls on some loads to confirm the load instructions, and prior to leaving every load-out. Many of these places are way out in the boonies, and you have to have cell service. Get a phone and a service that will allow you to do your job - Sprint and T-Mobile don't cut the mustard on this.

There are lots of places in Wyoming that you're not going to have phone service....no matter which carrier you choose.

I've been all over this country, all sorts of out of the way places.

Verizon has the best overall coverage, but no carrier covers everywhere.
