I have Sprint and I called them...yes this is all true......and no one will be grandfathered in...but they did say if you don't do a lot of downloading...like i-tunes and such , that you would never go over the limit....well we shall see.

this only pertains to data cards and hot spot addons to phones. It does NOT apply to data used on the iphone or smartphone, they are still unlimited. This only affects people using the data on their PCs. If I had both, I'd do my video watching on my phone instead of the computer.

I'm using a dongle from Virgin Mobile, it's still unlimited at $50 a month, but they throttle your speed after 2.5 gigs to 256 kbps. That's fast enough for me, anyway. Youtube videos are painful at that speed, you have to hit the pause button and let it download some before you can watch it, but for most other stuff, it works fine, most of the time anyway, even online gaming once in a while.

A typical business..... did all this massive advertising during big events, slammed competiton, get a bunch of new CONTRACTED subscibers and change the deal.

Sweet ! Can anyone say "backlash" ?

All those hungry iPhones are eating up all Sprints data bandwidth they cannot believe that all those iPhone users are surfing the Internet.

they actually saw it coming. The announcement was made a couple days before the iPhone was released. AT&T did the same thing back in 2007 when they launched the iPhone. i remember it well, I had the $60 unlimited plan when it was still unlimited. After that happened I left for Sprint.

PDA.net and/or rooted phones with wifi tether need not worry either.
Not to mention, who actually uses the 4G as a driver? I'm never in one spot long enough. I do however blow through 2-3Gb+ PER DAY of 3G data on my sprint plan

First they took my unlimited 3g, now they want to take my unlimited 4g. I sure hope they decide to grandfather people in. Which its looking like no. Will be interesting to see what my first bill will look like. I average around 15GB a month. Granted some months I dont use it at all, and others I excede 30gb.

Might have to seriously consider switching carriers. Sure its not much greener with them, but no way will I be giving sprint any more money after they give a big ## like this.

I have unlimited 3g from sprint. Got a letter in the mail last week saying they would start charging me if I didnt cut back on my usage. I called to question this and she said that was correct. I was using to much data. I told them the only reason I got a smartphone was to stream Pandora and Radioio and I paid EXTRA to get unlimited internet for that exact reason. Gotta love these people.
