Yeah, i think the seal should be flush with the cover, maybe even recessed a bit. That looks way wrong, like a wheel seal
But it's been a bit since I messed with a Rockwell
Edit: at least the sealing surface flush or slightly recessed. I think the outer lip should be metal, and against the cover when installed
SQ100 pinion seal and nut

As usual, it was my fault I believe. The dust cover on back of yoke was slightly tweaked from prying it off. Seal matches old seal, seal
Numbers match parts breakdown. Have a new seal, the exact national seal, new yoke, and nut coming for tomorrow. Will advise when back together. Appreciate the response. I can screw things upOxbow and Star Rider Thank this. -
New yoke, and seal arrived yesterday. Of course they forgot to ship the nut. I opted to loctite and reuse old nut as I wanted to have this back together after messing with it for a week almost and missing a really good week of trucking. This is national 100495 which came as world American 100495 it does cross to the DTP2590 looks totally different tho. No big lip, sits flush on the cover when installed. As was mentioned. Everything is good now, no oil leak at all. I did have an issue with the U joint that I’ve never had it felt stiffer than usual, I put it back together though drove it almost 30 or more miles. No oil slinging, u joint temps were in line with the other U joints and no vibrations. I appreciate the replies. I can sure turn a simple job into a complex 1.Big Road Skateboard, Oxbow, Stay Puft and 2 others Thank this. -
