    Sr-22

    Proof you have insurance.

Used to be you carried a card mailed by the insurance company as proof.

These days. The state says you do or don't. And cops have access to that info.

    Sr-22 seems pretty stupid now.

I believe the SR-22 is necessary because the driver has proven they are very high risk, such high risk 99% of insurance companies will reject your money rather than cover your risk. Because your ability to get insurance is almost zero the cops/state are not going to trust the piece of thin cardboard showing your policy number & expiration date from Fuhgeddaboudit insurance can be trusted. I vaguely remember SR-22s require a huge deposit or bond or something. I've never personally known anyone in the SR-22 penalty box.

Well, that is about as bad as it can get for the OP.

That isn't bottom of the barrel bottom feeders... that is under the barrel parasites.

Another driver, former NYC taxi driver, had almost a dozen tickets and fender benders, in his taxi, and found a pretty decent job teaming with an owner-operator. Hauling produce from California to NYC. He found that on Craigslist.

Arkansas cops too. But the #######s will still give you a ticket if you don't have proof of insurance with you

That’s definitely not required here in MD. I’ve never been asked for an insurance card.

Many states accept phone apps & also DMV records show cops at least "has insurance" on the cross police car mobile terminal at roadside. SR-22 is not just a normal thing. It's only for the people that are the hard cases due to bad driving record, as I understand it.
