I got an offer from both SRT and Transcarriers. Unfortanetely, I do not know much about either one. The only info I have gotten is what I read here in the forums and that doesn't help much. Both are offering the same amount of pay and both are offering my needed 2000 miles per week. This is all I need to pay my bills for my wife works FT as a Registered Nurse and covers pretty much all of them.
My question is, which company would be better? Transcarriers is offering home every 10 days and SRT is every 21. I live in Florida and it is difficult for either to run down here and I expect that. I do want to move to Wilmington, NC and both said they can get me home there every 14 days. In the meant time, we will be in Florida for at least another year before we move. SRT is telling me that I will run all 48 States and Canada. Transcarriers only runs east of Mississippi River for solo, but teams go west coast. To be honsest, I don't recall seeing Transcarriers anywhere other than running up and down I 81 and not much down here in Florida. SRT tells me they avg 1200 miles length of haul and Transcarriers won't tell me (and that has me wondering).
Does anyone have any info on Transcarriers, other than they run Peterbuilts and pull Dry Vans? There is lot of info on SRT both good and bad that I was able to find. I just can't find anything on Transcarriers and that bothers me a bit. I take that back. I found 1 post on Transcarriers and it was really bad. I would like to get more info to help me decide on a better company to go with. Thanks ahead of time for the replies!

TransCarriers is a small carrier (200 trucks) out of Memphis, Tn. A lot of short hops, I've heard. SRT (Southern Refrigerated Transport) out of Texarkana was bought out by Covenant about 5 years ago. The problem with short hauls is you spend a lot of time picking up and delivering, then running hard overnight. Or, the opposite can be true too. 2 days to go 300 miles! Just flip a coin.....
tellnol437 Thanks this. -
I live in Orlando just north of I4. A lot of companies are telling me they want me, but don't hire south of Jacksonville for freight is really low or too many drivers down here.
WSE would work out great, if the VP wasn't the uncle of my ex-wife...
Thanks for the little bit of info so far. I do appreciate it. I was a bit concerned that Transcarriers would be a short haul carrier and I would be at docks a lot. Might explain why I still haven't gotten a confirmation on the detention pay program, if they even have one... -
Try Burris, day cabs - forced to sleep at home. Also LCT(Lester Coggins), NFI(National), Hester in Lakeland. Later............
tellnol437 Thanks this. -
I didn't even think of Burris or NFI. Thanks!

Does anyone know if SRT pays Practical or HHG? I'm told Transcarriers pays HHG.
