12.7 ss60 air compressor leaking oil. 2nd air compressor to do this in under 600000 (total) miles on truck. So would you buy another air compressor? Can the old one be fixed(sealed better)? Of course it leaked oil on injector harness and ruined it. What can one do to prevent oil dripping on harness? This by no means is a large leak. Dropping 600-1000 dollars on a compressor is getting old. What are your thoughts. Had cat c-12 before this never leaked oil.

@Rideandrepair may help you. Where did it leak from on the compressor?

I have no idea. You can change the head gasket, if that’s where it’s leaking from. Maybe use some copper seal with the Indian head Logo on it. Not sure the name. I’m told it works good. I’ve never used it myself. I’ve changed them a few times on another Truck I had, till I figured out it didn’t have a safety valve on it. Sure it’s the compressor? Front cover, valve cover and diamond seal are other common leaks.

Bottom of compressor. Small square plate on bottom. Same place where the old compressor leaked from

Are you sure its the compressor and not the gasket or oil lines going to the fuel pump?

That could just be a leak from a gasket that is accumulating there. Have the one on front going into timing cover and also one for the fuel pump.. or oil feed line coming from block to fuel pump.

No not those. Just bottom. Of I take that plate off are their any components that will fall out? Can I remove plate and silicone it or new gasket?

    Thanks

No Jack in the box just some oil. Uncommon for them to leak.
