I got my number from that same chart before I posted but my dyslexia kicked in again. Read 39,3xx instead of 33,907. Oops.

I'm betting he was concerened about the tongue weight on the pintle if he moved the unit forward. I'm not sure how much overhang one is allowed on a setup like that if he was to leave the machine parked in the same location, but swung 180.

Eh, it's not that big of a deal on there you see it all the time and if done right is fine. Without looking at the laws I'm not sure of the weight capacity of a class 7 vehicle but that's a pretty small dump truck.

AModel beat me to it, it probably would have hit the truck, I would have stuck the boom out the rear and said heck with the overhang.

I'm thinking if he left it where it is, but tried to tuck the boom behind it, the joint between the stick and bucket it would typically rest on would've been past the end of the trailer.

So, reverse it? Trailer still looks too dang small. Had he a 'real' trailer / RGN or whatnot, wouldn't he have been able to collapse it legally?

No when it's crowded clear up and boomed down the dog bone ends up close the the end of the track.

I've no doubt there's a way he could've made that work.

The problem is he didn't measure the height like an idiot. When in doubt, get out the tape measure.
