I've been at stage call for a year now. been in transportation for 40yrs. This is the best company I've ever been contracted to. I personally do very, very well here. I will say my situation is very different than most in this industry. Here are a few fact to understand before you consider not only Stage Call, but any company in this industry. You may be away from home for as much as 5 months at a time when on tour. You'll run mostly thru the nights and early mornings. You need to be able to sleep days. Load outs will begin after shows typically 11pm starts. May finish around 2am than hit the road. Load ins 8 to 9am. Could be 200 to 500 miles, it varies. Longer hauls you'll get a travel day. Standard: Early is on time, on time is late. You don't stop for anything on overnights! Equipment your hauling is worth millions, don't damage it. If your late for load in it could cost company 10K and hour. On most top tours you have catering provided. Not always though. If you do it's three meals a day, so very little expense out of pocket there. You get daily tour pay, and hotel buyouts. There are certain gigs that do not provide buyouts. We also get tolls reimbursed. Most important aspect, good driving record, and steady employment record.
My average net per week this past year was $2,200 + -. As stated earlier my situation is different than most. I pay all my costs up front i.e. plate registration permits etc. I put $600 per week on my fuel card, and typically will get me thur the week. My fuel expense is half of what it was running freight, and my mileage was half too. Long story short. Expenses are less, and you not wearing out you equipment as quickly. Last year I worked 290+ days. That was two tours. I started middle of Feb till Middle of May flew home for two weeks. Started second tour middle of May till end of November. Flew home for holidays and will start new tour end of Feb 2017
