Stake pockets on a Landoll

For those that don’t know, a Landoll won’t have stake pockets like a flat or a normal step. They have a I-beam outer beam. The stake pockets will go through the top beam flange, and will be much stronger than than a normal stake pocket, spool, and rub rail setup.

All that being said, I still wouldn’t want pockets over the standard chain slots that Landolls come with. I just don’t see any advantage to it, unless you have a reason to put actual stakes in them.

 

And I can’t see any advantage over the chain slots that come standard.

 

On pretty much every trailer, they and the rub rails are only designed to stop straps from getting cut in the event of a rollover. Anything hooked to them is a way to bend them

All 4 of my Benson trailers have a big yellow sticker on the frame listing Stake Pockets at 5000lbs and a strap hook on the rub rail at 5500lbs.
