That was actually the last certain thing I heard, but also got a hint that he may have returned to Star. Either way...he's a good guy. I hope he's doing well.

Hey all, ....Star is great company to work for! I spent a total of three weeks with two different trainers and was well taken care of by both management and the drivers. I even had a pay "glitch"....called my tng manager (Bob Harrigan), and he fixed it immediately. You are not a number with Star, and I couldn't have asked for more! Unfortunately for me, I had to self-terminate my time with them. I couldn't handle being away from my kids. I know this is a common story, so I will warn you new drivers out there....if you have young kids, and you want to be with them....look for local LTL work with Conway or NFI (hint hint). They will hire you as newbie!!!! Don't believe you have to go OTR for a year to get a local job!!!! I got picked up driving a tanker for a local oil company....the owner liked my background, and gave me a break...you can do it too! As for everyone else looking for a good OTR/east coast regional job....Star is the ticket!!! And remember, Nashville, not the "other" one. Take care everyone, and I'll put down a review of my new job in a month or two...signing off, Ted.

i have been with star a year and a half this go round yes they have there ups and downs on regional and otr i wasn't getting the miles i wanted but i did get home every weekend.i quit because of not getting the miles before. but now i am on a Nissan dedicated and i get 2900 miles a week and still home every weekend. they are real big on safety and i like that. they do have electronic logs and i love that myself.like any company they have there ups and downs.they are not a high mileage pay company but i love it because i am home weekends so i stay and they do have mostly cascadias now.over all my opinion of star is they are a decent company and they do over all treat there drivers fair if you do a good job for them. even if they are owned by covenant.:yes2557:

I've been in trucking for twenty five years. It's nice to see a positive attitude from new drivers. Keep that up my friend. A positive attitude is invaluable in this industry.

Anyone have any updates on Star? I'm looking at them, Werner, and a few others. Try not to hate lol, I've run the tail off of Boston for 10 years, and I'm not afraid of NYC or touching freight. Thanks
