I know that they aren't on this site, for what reason I don't know. But does anyone know about Epes Transport out of Greensboro, NC? Any info will help, thanks!!

I used to work for Star (ended back in 04), before they were bought out by Covenant. As a stand-alone outfit, I liked working for them. Miles were pretty steady, people were decent, equipment was decent. Got home when I was supposed to. Now, under the Covenant banner, I don't know.

I've personally never heard anyone say anything really negative about Epes....I've considered them as well.

Wish I could give you more to go on....good luck!

They've got their own section here in the DAC part of the forum: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/star-tn/ I've seen a number of threads on them over the years in different sections of the forum here - use the search function. From what I've heard around here and otr they went downhill when covenant took over but probably aren't too bad since you don't see or hear too much about them. One of the small perks they had before the covenant buyout was how they used to let drivers with 10 years at the company pick out and spec the truck they wanted to drive. Some of those drivers had nice rides but they all drive generic midroof columbias anymore.

I will say this about Star: Most of the people in the key administrative positions have been there since before Covenant came in (I checked out their website and found I know a good many of them). To me, that's a good thing, as their people were for the most part very, very good to deal with.

I worked for them just recently and I never made any more than 450 a week I sat most of the time and when I was leaving they wouldn't even send me to Nashville to drop their truck off. They kept my last paycheck saying that I quit under a load and funny thing was I had no load I sat for 7 days in Florida and another driver was taking loads out of Tampa to Jacksonville 4 days a week. Go find another company they don'tdo as they promise

    bluv37 Thanks this.
