    Veering, but...
It is said one should not carry a gun. But; it is a very comforting to have one in reach should the need arise.

Actually, Yes. It is a criminal offense. This is why you can take the citation to a jury trial.

    Dennixx and Oxbow Thank this.

That's why I got a passport book and passport card at the same time. For every need I can remember in trucking the passport card is sufficient. The card can be in my wallet at all times with no burden at all, just an extra $30 fee to add the card to the book. Having another official govt ID that can be stored somewhere else in case of emergency seemed like a good idea. I don't think I've ever used it, but have it. Looking like an almost grown up Beaver Cleaver also helps.

Question, do you have documented sources for this. Could be an interesting read.

I live near the border ( McAllen TX) I rarely go to Mexico, but I have no passport. I'll just show my d.l. custom will strongly suggest I get a passport, but it's not worth the trouble. They can't deny me entry with proper I d.
But not missing much. Govt just put out a warning about Reynosa mx, which is across from my area. Warning of kidnappings and i. e.d.s. locals here commonly go over for medical and dental

Yeah but I just cooperate because they have to do their job and I don't give a crap. I don't have time to play constitutional games

I'm going to have to go with the above comment that says the word YES is so much more easier then trying to act like you work for ACLU. And hanging around for the day.
