I don't need $%^&heads like you, people call me to haul their highend cars, I don't need your cheap backhaul BS.

Oh, and to address the steering wheel holder comment. I've driven for companies and had truck driving jobs that most on here would give their firstborn children to have, so why don't you go post your backhauls on Uship....

Here is an example of how to get information from truckers. As we've seen in the previous nine posts, this approach was very effective in gaining the answers sought by the O/P.

As a result, he is much more prepared to begin his new venture.

Sadly he is just another example of the leeches feeding of the industry due to the ease of entry. Anyone on a couple hundred dollars can become a broker. Almost as easy as the lease crud these companies do.

People that have to deal with brokers see shining examples on a regular basis.

I hear and understand what you truckers are saying about brokers, but back haul to me when I was trucking was just a load getting me back to the general area I wanted to be at. For instance-- I trucked meat out of Monfort to the east coast, then got a back haul of bombs [empty cases ] going to Grand Island NE. I called it a back haul simply because it got me closer to CO. where I wanted to be. As far as the rate goes I did not know as I was a co. driver and recieved pay by the mile the same each way. I realize how the term could tic-off an O.O., and even in my day Brokers in New York and New Jersey were well known crooks. Be that as it may--- they were succesful because there were always O.O. that would use their services, even tho they hated doing so. I guess things havn't changed much over the years. Happy trails!
