Yes the boot bus at Schneider you'll get some Georgia giant boots to choose from, actually pretty good quality. They give you new boots very six months, my over the road trainer had about ten pairs.

Noobs pay $25 or $35? Taken out of your first check. Choice between Georgia boots all leather upper, and Rocky boots very comfortable foot beds. if the insides werent cloth covered I'd have stuck with them. -

Hope you don't get the Schneider driver I passed today. Dude was sitting sideways in the driver seat texting while driving. Guess he thought if his back was to the window nobody would know what he was up to.

Well...end of the first week....head out Monday to who knows where!
A re-cap...Schneider training so far is EXACTLY how they initially presented it. Very well organized, good flow, on point. Lots of veterans. Folks, this ISN'T driving school! Less pressure, good advice fast paced.
We started with 18, down to 16. One had hair follicle issues, and one failed backing and road skills. He had been driving for another company for a few months, one that has their own school....
Food seems pretty good, hotel is nice. It's a long walk to a grocery store, there are a few fast food place, Starbucks, and an In 'N' Out close by. (oddest looking In N Out I've seen)
Skills:
They use the 45 degree method for backing. Approaching a row of trailers, about 10' out from them, go past your hole, and when your shoulder comes even with the glad hands, turn right full lock till tractor is is lined up at 12 o'clock, then turn hard left till you're parellel with the line. Now you are set up, straight back or minor right correction puts you close to the hole.
Driving: work on skipping gears, bump and run-dropping two or more gears based on RPM and road speed in order to be ready to roll in case a light you're approaching changes.
I'll keep this going as I learn.moosc Thanks this. -
Just got back from the Indian restaurant......you were right!
Trying to absorb as much as possible! -

Schneider is who we hope to join in June. Nice to see your updates.
I am interested to know, in your road test did you double clutch or float? Husbands been driving for 15 yrs and he told me he tried to double clutch the other day and just cant figure it out, lol. He said I hope I can float in the road test and I told him I would ask.
