I went to orientation in Lakeland!
What can you expect? Well if it's anything like the orientation I went through it's a lot of hurry up and wait. paperwork, videos, physical, drug test, photo for the ID. more paperwork. more videos. some guest speakers (like the guy who comes in to talk you out of lease purchase)
..and if you're really lucky, your trainer will pick you up from Lakeland. If not, you may be hopping into a van with a number of other new hires and going to either Dallas, Omaha or (the one in Ohio) to hopefully get a trainer.
I think you're still housed at the LaQuinta for orientation. 2 per room. DO NOT have alcohol in your room or you will be sent home. The maids are given kick-backs to tell on students if they find beer bottles in the room. also DO NOT have any alcoholic drinks at Applebees. They too will tell on you. If you want a nice dinner to celebrate completing orientation, go to Cracker Barrel. it's practically next door to the hotel.
Breakfast is the continental breakfast at the hotel. Then they'll pack as many new hires into the van as possible to make as few trips as possible. I suggest if it's a big group, skip the first van. You can sleep in a few more minutes or spend a little more time having breakfast. Lunch is provided at the terminal. It's nothing fancy. Dinner, you're on your own.123456 Thanks this. -

Good luck getting a trainer out of Lakeland, FL. It's barely a terminal. Just a small office building (and I do mean small) with some picnic tables under shelter outside. No shop, limited parking. Hotel is decent, and the people who were down there a few years ago were pretty nice. Most likely, you'll go to Atlanta (gods help you) or Dallas after orientation to find a trainer.

Just wondering how did it go! For you ???
