I have a 1995 Peterbilt 377. Truck wouldn’t start without jumping solenoid on firewall. Replaced solenoid and done same thing. When I jump solenoid won’t start until I press start button but when I press start button without jumping solenoid I can hear the solenoid click. I’m confused either new solenoid is bad or start button bad but wondering why I can hear the solenoid click it button is bad? And ideas?

What are you jumping on the solenoid? Putting 12v to the coil should close it and put 12v to the starter.

Do you have a multimeter to check voltages?
