Start Training at Swift on the 21st ....what should i expect?

So your going with Swift. I worked for them for four months,and decided they were not for me.All I can say is good luck on your venture.

 

Very good point! I have to give it to yea... if you get through all the training with Swift you are very disciplined... I made it to orientation and with all the paper work and the misconception of having to get a new medical card once I graduated from the academy I was not hired. Swift didn't want to deal with me, but if you can go through like a robot, you are very right about having a good experience. Attitude is everything when it comes to trucking.

 

I am 4 miles off I-40 in TN. I start school soon. If Swift takes me I will work my butt off. I am willing to bet they can get me home time as I am not far from Memphis.

I have read here there is drivers out there that have been with them 10+years.

All you guys with several years experience in some ways have plenty of choices. Or do you? Lots of companies are trying the rookies VS experienced to save $$

That is the way it was with my last job. I was making too much money per hour. They can get a newbie to hopefully do my job for less.


I have been one on one with several drivers in the last month or two who got pushed out due to their experience.


1-2 year guys get the loads and the guys at the top of the scale get crap.
