Oh, man! Been an OOIDA member for a long time, but as a company driver, I do not think of what they offer enough. My mistake, but, I will use them when the first year expires.
Thanks for the info.

So, today, I am sitting in my office, setting up systems for my wife to use while we are waiting for final approval for the lease paperwork. A former employer (1099 again) needs to get back to me for paperwork needed by the lessor.
The lease will be picked up in Chicago or else Omaha. Chicago is about three hours closer, but Omaha probably has the truck I most want. EIther is fine by me.
Also waiting to hear back from the trailer salesman.
I have a few calls in with someone I know who contracts pharmaceuticals about hauling them. Not sure, but I have been to Walgreen's DC many times, and I have experience with that.
So, still working on setting things up. I prefer OTR vs. local, and I prefer long haul as well. Also, not really interested in dedicated lanes. However, I know that the long distance/different roads/different places comes with it's own headaches. These things are understood. I have a very high powered flashlight for finding those addresses at night when everything is dark and there are no streetlights. -
You obviously have your ducts in order, and one thing I ain't seen is I really hope you have a maintenance fund save or started. Hopefully you got a truck with an apu too.
With this down economy trying to squeeze maintenance funds out of what little you making makes it even worse. But good luck to ya -
I have a decent sized maintenance fund. NOT $50k huge, but about half that.viper822004 and trips74 Thank this. -

Today, I am still searching for a trailer.
We got the insurance chosen.
So, add trailer search to list.
Now, working on trailer, getting load board assignments, debating about using a broker, or doing self dispatch. Still much to do. Hope to be out in about two to three weeks from now.
What do you all think of doing power-only stuff? -
WizardBill Thanks this.
