I have found a 50ft. Measuring tape to be handy. When I first started, I worked for a company with different makes of trailers. The distances from the rear of the trailer to the main pin varied between some of the trailers. Some states require this distance to be very short. I measured to make sure as I learned the difference in the trailers.

Empty oil jug to carry water for radiator when hose leaks along the interstate, have carried fuel for unit running low when unable to move trailer, gotten gas for elderly couple out of gas, get water from spigot to wash windshield, any time you need to carry a liquid. Very simple. Hard to find one when you need it. -
Depends on the company you work for. Some of the Mega's don't want you to carry anything, you can actually be fired for it.
tderrick Thanks this. -
Thanks for all the input guys, I have a great list now

Teflon plumbers tape will help you fix a bad gladhand. Have used it many times in the Army when replacing a bad airline or gladhand, very handy!
