Well after 4 years of waiting I've finally made the choice to get my cdl. I've got news that i will be starting on the 20th this month in little rock and I'm pretty excited but I do have a few concerns. So I've been keeping up with my sugar, blood pressure and weight i also got my eyes checked and have a slight problem with focus but he said my eyes wouldnt propose a problem with the physical. I do have a few concerns though, so I've been ready about this bmi an sleep apnea and while I'm over the bmi I continue to lose weight and I didn't read anything about it in writing from the dot so can c1 send me home because of this? My blood pressure is near excellent and my sugar is close to normal and i think the only problem i see is the bmi thing. I've talked to a doctor about it and he says I don't carry any symptoms of sleep apnea but to clear me I would have to do a study at 1300 a night..
Starting at c1 this month

If you have not been diagnosed with sleep apnea then according to dot you don't have it. Believe me they don't check for it.
corysti Thanks this. -
Yep. When you take your DOT physical they will ask you if you snore. If you answer no, then that is it..... -
Okay well let's hope I have no problems passing the physical
-
Nobody asked me if I snore...
Mikeeeebayougirl Thanks this. -
Well I finally finalized the date with my background, work history and drivin record and the word is I have a perfect record he said he had no problems getting me approved, still a little nervous since I'm quitting two Part time jobs to better myself. I hope the instructor are Forgiving and send me home if I screw up
-
Just don't quit. If you get sent home you are cool. If you quit you are still on the hook for cost of schooling. And at ft wayne if you fail the dot skills test 5 times you get sent home but still have to pay.

I've just returned from SWIFT Transport Academy. My roommate during my time there was sent home on a medical because the doc "thinks he may have sleep apnea". If you don't have the symptoms, I think I would let C1 tell me I had to go spend $1300.oo a night. Just my opinion. Oh if you don't know for sure if you snore, which many do, I wouldn't even mention it. It will most likely be asked in your paperwork somewhere in order to clear you start with. I don't think giving them a reason ahead of time is a good idea.

Well a friend I used to work with works a for a sleep apnea medical center and she done a test at home and said that I have a very good chance of not having it because I don't share any symptoms to sleep apnea. I'm pretty quick learner at things I like which is like anything mechanical. I currently work for a Auto parts store and have some knowledge in diesels I think my only problem with be the maneuvers. Btw how much money did you end up taking with you gravdigr? I am up for the 20th and I really like to go on that date because of the $1200 sign on bonus with pam if I'm in that class. But at this moment with me just getting moved into my new place and lady problems im not sure if im going to be completely ready.
