The Volvos with sleepers are for Extended Service Lanes (ESL). Those are the line haul runs that go a bit too far for one driver so two team up on it. I know Indy runs Nashville, TN and South Bend runs Youngstown OH as ESL runs.

Ah oki Idk why they don't just put us on them lol I wouldn't mind getting the endorsement.. lol funny how we hardly pull any of our own fright

The esl runs are bid runs for Freight drivers. I filled in on one years ago and It's not a bad gig if you have it worked out with the other driver. It pays really well and if you can sleep in a moving truck it is a pretty sweet gig. I know we don't run nearly as many of these as we used to but they're still around at some terminals. Buffalo, NY used to have a ton of them but I believe they replaced them with outside carriers.CenutryClass Thanks this. -

Didn't mean funny in good way.. its crap we are same company n won't even put us on the loads when we are gettin crap miles.. Tyson hires loads out cuz not enf trucks same with Walmart not cuz of pay...

I also think we have the two fastest trucks in all of conway freight. A 08 sterling that runs 67 and a cascadia sleeper that runs 68 and pulls 35,000 lb sets up the hill like its nothing.jakebrake12 Thanks this. -
Our esl Volvo's were never cut either. You must miss that one that got wrecked... I'm not sure what barn has it but a Cascadia sleeper used to roll me on the Pa Pike - flats, up, or down I'd get rolled bad..

They screw with your start times / days / nights so much that you're waliking around in a constent zombie state , always tired . Pretty much have to keep the phone glued to your ear .
I don't understand how they can say their all about safety now and not understand how the way they work the flex board actually creates less safe drivers .
To me , the proof is in all the accidents .
Guys with million miles + with no accidents now have them because of dropped tralers or ripped off fuel nozzels .
Gee , it wouldn't have anything to do with not letting folks get into a rythem would it ? I'm just a new guy so what do I know ?
What I know is that we're about to start bidding next month so I'll hang out to see what comes my way and if it sucks , I'll find another job .
