I meant to say something on this one...

If you drive 69 miles farther west there will be .... what appears to be, from a distance, a "skip" in the interstate.

It's not a mirage... it's Valley City and the only spot in ND that has a decent sledding hill!

Laying in my bunk in a rest area south of MPS after a pretty good.day. Trip to NJ got cancelled but I will still get my BBQ.

I hate typing on a phone.

Not to worry, plenty more where that came from..

Do you have a data phone/plan with your provider? tether it up or use the wireless feature and connect it to a laptop. I did that "typing" for a week once when I left my puter at home....

    result...

Bought another puter, one for the truck, and one for home.

I have 5 GB/mo. I need to give tethering my computer a try.

Was in Joplin last night and Carl's Corner, TX tonight. Planned on going a bit further but this ended up working a bit better.

    Keyboard is W A Y bigger!

A big part of planning the trip is knowing where you're gonna call home each night.

Truck-stops fill up rather quickly after 5 pm. Next filled are the rest areas, then come the ramps. As I became more familiar with the various locations of stops... I started making notes on where I could park overnight Most nights I park at the receiver/shipper and am staged for the next day. These facilities don't advertise overnight parking for obvious reasons... but if ya ask nicely... you can usually park it off in a corner at the very least or the greeter will have an idea of where you can park.

I've parked at other customers businesses down the block from where I'm to deliver/pickup, ya just gotta pay attention.

    Take notes!

Made it to Yoakum yesterday but had no internet. Unloaded this morning and now sitting at ThermoKing in San Antonio getting the APU fixed. Pick up in China Grove tomorrow afternoon and deliver in Chicago Thursday at 7:00 am. I'm going to try to move it to 10:00 so I can do a split sleeper, otherwise I'm driving all night Wednesday to just get there in time but will have no hours left to leave.

Shipper was in no hurry to load is plus with SA and Austin traffic there was no way we could make our delivery so we had to team it last night. I can't imagine doing that every day. Trying to sleep last night across AR on 40 was not very productive. Hard to sleep when you are bouncing and your teeth are rattling.

South of Chicago tonight then up to MPS for a Friday morning drop, load i

WHA??? P*** set the cruise at 62.5?? NO WAY!

Don't toss it yet! it's still a life line you need! Soon enough you'll know where your service is good/better/best and can plan your trips accordingly.

I have Sprint and the MN IA border is "no phone zone" , along with ..............

Missed ya in Chitago... played there yesterday and today then coasted up to MPLS (home). Got a 3 stopper on my way to Fargo tomorrow but someday I'll catch up with ya!

What I ment by dang phone is I started typing that message, got a phone call and then couldn't continue the message so had to post what I had and then type the rest in the next message.

Drove 10.5 hours yesterday at an average of 58.7 including stopping to try and fix the trailer ABS light. 616 miles at 62 mph. Not a bad day's work. Now sitting at the TA at exit 4 in NJ for a short run to our 7:00 am delivery in South Plainfield and then pick up in Elizabeth for a return to Fargo. Will end up with 6056 miles for my first two weeks, including the day we had to wait for a load in SA.
