I kind of lost interest when I didn't get much response.
Still very happy here and would recommend the company to anyone, especially when you read how so many other companies treat their drivers.

I just looked at their website and the info is a little vague.
What's the starting pay for a new driver?
What's the hometime like?
Avg length of haul?
How much sitting unpaid do you do with reefer freight waiting to get loaded/unloaded? Do you haul primarily meat from the packing plants?
Forced New York City? How much Northeast?
It sounds like you run south/southeast quite a bit and dediated areas/runs?
How many tractors/trailer does the OTR division have?
Thanks -
-
I've seen Magnum trucks come through here before and I looked at the truckstop in my town and there's one parked there but I didn't see anyone around. Driver must be sleeping. I'm about an hour south of Lacrosse, WI.
Zen Trucker Thanks this. -
I used to live in LaCrosse in the early 80's.
-
Zen are you from IL? I read about sitting at OHare waiting on a plane in the first post. It seems like you wind up in Fargo a lot coming back from your runs. Is that the norm for all the drivers?
-
I have an address in Madison.
I had a bunch of miles so I flew up for orientation instead of taking the bus.
It really varies and seems to go in cycles. You may only get to Fargo once a month or you may be there every week.
I'll actually be driving through LaCrosse tomorrow on 90. I'll give you a wave. -
Where did you go to driving school at? Evidently it's not too hard to get hometime when you want it being in Madison. They must go through there quite a bit.
-
Going through does not unfortunately help with home time, a lesson I learned early on. Delivering near works much better.
But I get home whenever I want. Magnum is very good about that.
Did you see me wave today? -
Good to know they're somewhat flexible about getting home in this area. How much dry freight do you haul or is it always reefer? That would open up more places to deliver and pick up at as well. I didn't see you wave, I was looking north part of the day too. I live south of Lacrosse in PDC.
