It is a small world. I grew up 15 miles west of you.

I would guess we haul 85 percent reefer, 15 percent dry.

Don't quit writing! There are folks looking for a "good" company and Magnum isn't one of those listed on the "DAC" part of TTR. It should be!

Denali Dad do you have experience with Magnum? I did see that you worked for WEL for a short time, who are you with now? There must not be much complaining with Magnum or it would probably be posted here. That's one way to look at it.

Well, we are a small company so the percentage of driver's on here may not be much different from other companies. I know we also have a lot of long time drivers so the internet may not be something they are too big on.

I just had a family issue come up and was told to take all of the time I needed to get it straightened out. I think that says a lot about them.

No, I have no experience with them. I work for a very small regional carrier based in Western Michigan. We carry mostly for Nestle's Ice Mountain water, MC Sports, Menards, and a few others. We drive mostly in the states that touch Lake Michigan, but we do go as far west as a DC in Western Nebraska, and Iowa, and as far east as Cleveland for Steelcase furniture.

    Sorry for the late reply.

was thinking of getting in touch with magnum. I live in the Twin Cities and am going to try for the Blaine, MN terminal as base. I have 10 yrs trucking, just under 1 million miles. Can anyone tell me if Magnum is a good choice for miles and pay etc, getting home...you know, the basic stuff. Is it worth my time and effort? Thx

I get all the miles I want, they get me home when I ask and from what I can tell, they pay better than most. I really enjoy working for them.

So, I would say the answer to your questions are all yes. ;)

I worked for Magnum for 10 years. Paul is a TARD. How are you going to wear sandals and promote safety? Come around and say "You need to wear steel toes on the dock" and then goes down on the dock in his Jesus sandals. If you are going to work LTL out of Blaine, watch out for the terminal manager there. He is an ##### with a capital A. The LTD side may be better. Not sure. The dispatcher in Blaine is a decent dude.

White wolf care to elaborate? They are on my short list of companies if I do get into trucking. I'd be looking at going OTR with them not the LTL or line haul stuff. Zen Trucker isn't with them anymore but from his other posts it appears as though he misses them quite a bit. The other few post that were here seemed to have more good than bad as well. I do wish there website had their pay scale and home time on it though, it's a little vague.
