A question about routing Spanky. Do you do your own routing or are you required to follow a route given to you by dispatch?

I read somewhere that they do their own routing.
-
haven't been on in a while.. anyhow yes, we do our own routing.. they will give you directions in the qualcomm most of the time, but you aren't REQUIRED to follow the route.
-
the directions in the qualcom are for once you get to the city or area picking up or delivery in to help get to the customer. they dont say much about the way you run as long as you get there on time. only place they really say anything is in new york and pennsylvania where they like you to stay off the toll roads as much as possible because they are so expensive up there but they know there are times you have to run them

3 more days until school starts in Ohio. I think I am ready. I am very excited. Aren't you in school right now BlownGT? If so, how is it going for you?
-
we just finished orientation on wednesday.. waiting for them to route my trainer up this way to pick me up at the moment. School went really well.. after the 3 weeks, you'll be ready to get out there. It gets kinda boring towards the end, but it's well worth it. Bill will have you laughing pretty hard at some times lol. He's a really good guy and full of knowledge.. the best part is, he's honest with you so you always know where you stand with him. Good luck, you'll have a blast!

Hey dragon, good luck and hope everything works well for you my freind. I hope that I can get going the first of 2010 also. Good luck & be careful out there.

Do you have to wait at the school for your trainer or do you go home first and wait there ?

Loading the car as we speak...er....type to make the 5 hour drive to Ohio. I will have my laptop with me so I hope to be able to post a few times during the three weeks I am in school. I think right now I am equally nervous and excited.
Wish me luck !!! -
It usually depends on how you work things out with your trainer wildbill. I have heard some people wait at the terminal for them and I have heard some people go home and the trainer will stop in. Just depends what loads he has, how anxious you are to get out with him, and where you live in relation to the trainer.
