just spoke to him. Felt kind of sales pitchy, but I guess that’s his job. It’s a 10 day program (without cdl permit) and $6000 with financed, and $4000 with a personal loan - includes lodging, meals etc. It’s a short program - but I guess they have better instructor to student ratio and get things out of the way quick. But that still makes me nervous, it’s not a ton of training.
Pressed him on job placement, they recruit for Steven trucking company and cr England doesn’t recruit from my area (south Texas), which is why I’m hesitant to go through with a program like this. Told me life is a gamble lol. Idk man.
also looking at longer part time community college cdl training, it would take longer, (2 months) but it would give me time and a bit more experience.

If you can afford the community college, then do that. Some trucking companies will reimburse the tuition back to you with monthly payments. Not all do that, but some do.

First time I ever heard of a citizen fleeing Canada and coming back to the US after Trump was elected.....who knew.

If Stevens Transport hires that far South, where you are, then that's a decent option. You'll go out with a trainer anyway, for awhile.
If you do not have the financial means to attend a truck driver training program, we offer a complete 100% company sponsorship for CDL training. It’s our commitment to new truck drivers and affirming our proven leadership within the logistics and transportation industry. The sponsorship could include the following:
- Training tuition
- Lodging during school
- Meal assistance
- Transportation assistance

30-50% of trucking companies that hire newbies offer Tuition Reimbursement (TR). Each pay period the company pays driver for his work and also gives an amount for TR. That's how I repaid my CDL school loan. The student is required to repay the school loan according to the terms of the loan. The TR amount may or may not be enough to cover the monthly school loan. Getting TR does not change the monthly payment for the school loan. Also, TR may require you have an outstanding school loan to receive it. One driver paid cash for his school and then expected his employer with TR to pay him back. The company only paid TR with proof the student had an outstanding loan. That's a gotcha you can be easily avoid.

I’ve also been looking into Roadmaster’s driving school. So far they’re the only ones who have told me they pre-hire and have strong job placement. But they’re also the most expensive - 7000$ loan with 2300 extra in lodgings. They say it’s reimbursed with the company you work for, although I’m not completely sure how that’d work.
