It's a parts bin Frankenstein "5/8 ton" truck similar to the Titan XD.

That would get expensive towing a rental U-haul trailer around and I am not sure their insurance policy would be cool with you using their trailer for commercial purposes. You would need to buy your own Wells Cargo enclosed type trailer to do that, realistically. Compared to a late model Sprinter van, eh, maybe.

Nothing less than a 1-ton DRW would be advisable for doing anything like this. Certainly not a 150

You came on here asking for advice from experienced Hot Shot Drivers. If you are not going to listen to them, go by what the manufacturer says you can pull, & start your Hot Career! :D

You have given excellent advice in your response. I see this all the time on here. Good advice being given, a lot of the times you can tell by the response it just went right over their heads. Maybe it is someone’s preconceived ideas on a concept or just not want to listen to wise counsel. This forum is full of wisdom and knowledge. I used to follow a guy on here that gave out invaluable intel about negotiating, I seen people scoff at his advice.

My suggestion is a much heavier truck than the f150 although it may be decent for local work once in a while it won't last long under a constant load. Also start off driving with a company that is already established as a company driver so you can get a feel for the industry before you you go all in. Whatever you decide I wish you good luck. Be safe out there.

There is an entire sub forum dedicated to that line of thinking. They call it lease purchase operators.

Just because the trailer is swaying all over the road and the brakes are smoking means nothing..
