Did someone call Me? I saw AT in the sky, (my verson of the Bat Signal!) :biggrin_2559:

Sry I'm late to the party, I really need to have the watkins shepard section linked to me lol. I always for get to check it for a day or two then I see lots of threads with people saying "im sure AT will be along to help" but then I get there late lol

    Anyway,

Well since you have some experiance it'll be easy for you, just listen to what they tell you and then do what they say lol. So don't worry if you get less road time then the straight out of school guys, that just means you did good and they're going to focus more on helping the guys still struggling with stuff.

Walstib was dead on Tim, RL, Matt, and is your lucky Vern will be there they're all great! Between the 4 of them they have almost if not more then 200 years of Trucking Experiance!

They will let you use the trucks (In the yard after class and on the weekends) just ask for the keys. They wont even hesitate even if you cant back to save your life, they'll just say "here ya go" sometimes they forget to let the class know that they're availible so just ask on the first day. And go there everyday after class and on both sat and sunday! Just remember be 200% sure you dont hit anything! if you so much as scratch anything while in orientation you GO HOME! They dont care if you get out to look 600 times while backing in as long as you dont hit anything your good.

As far as what to practice, everything there really isnt anything spacific as far as backing goes, Practice the speed matching and the shifting technique they show you, it will come in handy on the mountian!

OH KEEP YOUR FOOT OFF THE CLUTCH!!!!!!! When your done shifting put your foot back on the floor dont rest it on the clutch pedal! Ther're big on that.

hmmmmm at the mountain just relax and do what they say its not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, the speed limit is 35mph for trucks.....You could literaly bail out of the truck at that speed you are NOT in any danger no matter what people say about taking a truck out of gear on a grade! lol

Other then that, just have fun!

I'll probably see you there since i'm in AR now, I'll keep an eye out for the rookies in the yard!:biggrin_25525:

I'm in Truck#2026 just in case you see me, and you'll know its me if im not in my truck lol

lol sorry I forgot that whole part of your post. yea the first day should be physicals/HPE/Drug test for those that havent already done them. Then movies, and possibly a road test depending on how big your class is and how many dont have the Physicals/HPE/Drug Test done. Paper work is mainly done at the end of the 10 days as its all job related stuff and your not hired until the end of the 10 days.

I have i think 15 people in my class and like 8 needed to do all that stuff and that REALLY slowed us down, if you have a small class everything will go by quick.

Oh and there 3 great places to eat around there, Bennets, The resterant in the LaQuinta Inn and Suites and up the street there is a place called Jasons Deli BEST FOOD EVER! lol

Oh one more thing lol sry this is all comeing back slow long time ago, but after your first day they'll bring you guys to Walmart to stock up on food and stuff for your hotel room and if you want to bring your own lunch....other wise they will bring you out to eat every day and that kinda adds up lol.

And if you get the chance, the Hickory Motor Speedway is right around the corner its only like $5-$10 to get in and they have some cool racing going on up there. CRFingnuts myself and Vern went to one of the races back in September
