Didn't get to say hi to the newbies. Got a quick bite to eat and had to run to miller to get beer heading to n.c. At the drop yard went to get bills and learned the truck won't turn off. Can pull the key but stays running. We are going to have that and a few other issues checked at kenworth in greensboro after we drop this in the morning. I did however get to interrupt your backing training after lunch by pulling through the range to get to the pumps.

Db you are living on the edge driving through the range like that...lol
I hope you don't have one of those flaming trucks. They had to put one out yesterday. If you make it back through Trenton stop and say Hi. I know next week we are on the road driving for the week. Not sure how much Trenton time we will have.

Sitting in the finest hotel in Greensboro N.C. known as the Fairview Inn Airport. Truck is at kenworth to get looked at, and now am waiting. Got to do some hilly driving through Ohio and W.V. and take a 2 mile 5% grade. Went down at 40 mph with the jake brake. Have to say the jake on the t700 is nice. Was able to flip between 4cylinder and 6cylinder. 4 would hold the road speed, the 6 would drop it 5 to 8 mph quickly. Was a good experience, first real grade I have taken that was a long distance. 2nd grade used the text book method of braking and safe speed. Had a close call with a car who didn't know what a stop sign was, got the nerves up but avoided a bad situation and everything was ok.

Couple of tips for others in school, if you have internet access register for your T.A. Ultra One reward card, and when you go out road driving ask if you can stop at a Pilot or Flying J and pick up a reward card from them also. With Pilot make sure you have the clerk activate it, then you can register it at an in store kiosk or online.

If you want to save money when you go out with a trainer, get you a lunch bag, nothing huge, and buy breakfast bars. I get Quaker Oats Squares, Life Cereal Bars, and Emerald Breakfast in a bag, its a granola and nut mix. They keep you full for a while and can cut out on eating at truck stops/fast food. Also ask your trainer if you can bring a little 12/18 pack of water to cut down on drinks on the road. Saves a couple bucks here and there.

Yeah the truck is brand new only 15k miles on it. Won't shut off, shakes when breaking, and windshield wiper fluid won't work unless you prime it a few times. Just one of those things little gremlins. Kenworth is packed full though is why the delay in fixing it.

I've had to spend the night in that hotel. It's a dive for sure. Hopefully you won't be down too long.
