Baritone - I had five incidents in less than a year. One for sure that should not even be included, but if I were a lesser man - another that would have never been reported. All five are now on my DAC.

Old MP- thanks, after seeing your post I applied online. I don't mind rejection, getting a LOT of it now. Read above.

To anyone that thinks they might also have a lead - thanks in advance. FYI - I know that most major carriers won't touch me (10' pole included) ;D ... Two to three incidents does it for most. With that said, I have one incident that is major (if you will); topping a trailer in Chicago, IL on a 14' clearence. Don't ask. Another minor incident - opened a 1/4'' by 1' hole on a trailer wall parking next to a railcar on my trailer (in training). Ran over a small two foot sign in a parking lot with the dot bumper, at night. Sign was in some bushes and I didn't know it was there. Then again I had a call about a week later telling me about the bushes I cruched with the tandoms - which I wasn't aware that I had jumped the curb either. I had scrapped my bumper iat the Trenton (Wayne Madison) drop lot. Was moving the trailer over in the parking spot by 'jogging' it (back and forth or to others it might look like a thousand and one pull-ups). Got a bit close to the barriers. I had stopped just short of it, used Goal for the front of the truck, backed up about three feet, found that I had forgotten to cut the wheels, and moved back foward to try again, but found the barrier a bit quicker than three feet. Not much damage to speak of; took one pic with my tablet camera to sum up the 'damage' to a fiberglass bumper vs. concrete. And as mentioned... one 'incident' that doesn't even justify me retyping it here - no one that I've talked to has asked more or less of what happened. ALL occurences have had no tickets or so much as the MAN (aka full grown, bear, city kitty, county mounty, or the like there of) called to the scene. So as far as I know - no DMV points. Just CSA/DAC?? I guess?? Although it seems to carry about the same weight for rehire potential.

So if you might have further questions - I'd be happy to discuss them - to any detail. I have boiled it down to the basic facts, here... light reading, if you will. I only post this in effort to find an employer that knows they have the potential to let me take the lumps and keep on trucking - I have a few mouths to feed. 70K+ miles since June of last year on my own - I havn't killed anything. Not even a speeding ticket, no DOT inspections, or OOS violations. It's not that I'm bragging here, just stating facts.

Sorry to hear about this........The 14 ft clearance (if marked) should not be your fault but I might not completely understand the details.

I wish you the best in your search.

True, 14' is a good bit of clearence. The 'L'-train, for instance, is marked at 14' in Chicago. Trucks can pass under it, crossing. I wouldn't recommend driving under it.. no restrictions on weight, height, or if trucks can be down the road; and I don't believe there is enough width on the outside lanes not under the 'L' with light/telephone poles and other obstructions. Sure getting across at every cross street may not be accessable with varring heights, but from what I gather, the Chicago area and the New England area are notorious for low clearences. Got to pay attention to the signs, and in some cases look for clues of failed attempts when there doesn't appear to be a sign *or it has been strategically (re)placed* - perhaps in someone's bedroom/domicile.

Well, my searches are turning up two things. L/P options and very few, small, copanies that usually require two years at a minimum. I have some hope for an outfit company that works union strikes or labor for natural distasters. They have a prolonged strike involving drivers that may be taking place in the near future, and the freight must go on, so I may be a fill in till issues are resolved - if it keeps the lights on at home, I'm there. Should gain enough time on DAC to reapply with some companies that require less time in the clear than others and work this angle for a bit. I've got a few other things to look into for finances as well but it's going to take a few $$ just to get a ¢ in the beginning.

I would probably stay away from the lease purchase. You might make a bad situation worse but that's just my opinion.

The important thing is to not give up looking. You will find something. It may not be exactly what you want but it may get you where you want to be.

Yes, traditionally L/Ps are a bad idea. The one I was inquiring about was a no money down, permits, base plates, eZpass, insurance, ifta, tarps, straps, binders... basiclly all operating equipment and supplies needed for 1.05/mile lded or mt with a tarp pay for lded reguardless of if the tarp is used. 2006 - 2011 equipment and 45' non-split axel flatbed. loads are set dispatch, all east of I-35 (the main beef I have with the whole program cause it sets the leassor up to squat you down wherever you happen to be toward the end of the lease) 48 month lease with no surprize fees. I asked about a pm plan and all I could get was there was one location for them to be done. national tire account? i got 'yeah, you break down we'll put tires on you'. all fuel, which comes out of the ld/mt pay, has to be at loves. no prepass. other details escape me at the moment, not looking at my notes right this minute.

Have you looked at the local ltl companies like saia, yrc, and i'm sure there are others, also not sure where you are in relation to the walmart DCs that are in GA but you might have some luck as a yard spotter. Also with spring/summer coming up, you might check construction and trash companies they need drivers.

Sorry to read about your situation, Not sure if there are any intermodal(rail/container) companies in your area, But thats a type of trucking thats usually easy for newer drivers to find work.
Where was this bridge so I can make a note of? Lake st.?
