When you are in orientation they will ask what you want to do and if there is a spot open when you get done training that is where you will assigned. Millis is not set up for team runs we use to have a few but i don't believe any of them are still doing it anymore. As far as tires go they wont worry about them wearing funny but you do need to check pressure in them on regular basis so you know if you have a tire that is going low or not

No Luck...SS Office said to contact either my employer, or the IRS. I'm just gonna spend the $40 and order them. -

After you get your license and you are still with your trainer you might get to do a little bit of team driving with them. Believe i have been there and it is not easy to sleep while the truck is moving.

Well, this might be true for most - I can sleep just about anywhere; the thought of someone that I just met driving while I sleep is the part that's going to keep me up. I'm sure I'll get over it - they don't make just anyone trainers, right? Having to switch up from the trainer to another that's more permanent - that would be the true hurdle. I'm fairly easy to get along with and I don't have many pet-peeves, maybe country or western music, but not much else besides basic hygiene. What does the pay work like with team driving - still at what rate you agree to, but it's split? Or is it based on e-logs?

I myself got the word from Millis that I have been accepted to training. I chose the Georgia class starting March 14th. I applied yesterday and was approved today. I have 10 years experience but havn't driven OTR for about 6 years. I don't mind starting over. Everything I have seen about Millis is pretty good. Millis was my number 1 choice. The thing I really like about them is that they do all the ground work to get you approved BEFORE you go to ANY training or orientation. There isn't the not knowing if you have the qualifications until your there, like there is with most other companies. I made sure to ask more than once about my qualifications and made sure that I wasn't going to go to find out later I'm not up to par to be hired. It's good to know that I'll have a job after I prove myself to be a good driver and employee. Although I have previous driving experience, I know things have changed in trucking. There is a lot more to being a good driver than the ability to drive. I'm not thinking I'm going to breeze thru it, trust me, I've got a lot to learn!

Happy Trails. -
There sure aren't any guarantees, but I'm at least feeling confident that as long as I do well that there will be a job. I chose Georgia because of the timing. I also used to live near Atlanta. I have a niece thats down there too. -
Just do what you're told - dont go in with any "pre-conceived" ideas and you'll do just fine. Remember - you're not actually hired until you pass the driving school. Once you do that - then you'll be assigned a OTR trainer and drive the way they teach you, listen to your trainer and ask questions.
Welcome aboard!
