Yep. The recruiters are piled up right now. Keep trying.

I called mine yesterday and left her a message. She didn't call me back, so I called again this afternoon and got ahold of her... she put me on hold for 8 minutes and then she finally got to me. She apologized and said she was going 10 different directions. Once I finally got her, she answered all of my questions and didn't rush me. She is very nice and helpful... just busy.

If you keep getting his voice mail, call back and get a person (any person) and tell them that you really need to talk to him... and don't want his voice mail again. They will help you. Everybody that I have talked to at Prime so far has been very nice and helpful-- made me feel like a person, not a number. Of course, experiences may vary.

    Be persistent.

It is normal. What I do is go to the recruiting number and try to speak to the first person that you talk to. You have to be persistent:biggrin_25515:!

I picked Prime because they have a very extensive and highly regarded driver instruction/training program. I don't have a CDL, so I need the instruction... and it is free if you stay with them for a year. No money out of pocket is good for me.

Also, I am going to be a Company Reefer driver, and the guys on the Company side by and large are getting good miles and are happy. Have there been disgruntled guys? Of course, but most Company guys seem to be doing well.

Also, their equipment is new and maintained well... and they have APUs and power inverters in every truck, although it remains to be seen if all Company guys will get the new lightweight Petes with/without APUs.

Lastly, the company outlook seems better than most. They have plenty of freight (and food is relatively safe, even in a bad economy) all over the 48 states, and they don't appear that they will go out of business (like alot of others) anytime soon.

I would have to agree with DirtySideDown. Prime sems to be a stable company. I checked out a couple of others. USA seems to be a no go for me from what I have read here and what I see on the road. In the last month or so I have seen only one USA truck out there, but I have heard the horror stories about low miles. I applied with Roehl, a good company from what I hear, but was turned down because they claim they can only hire so many newbies. Oh well.. As I drive to and from work I notice a lot of Prime trucks going noth directions. I do live in Kansas City, so this may have something to do with it being a crossroads and all.

All of that and the fact that it will cost me zero dollars if I give them a year makes Prime, uhm, well Prime... :)

That would be my .04 cents... :)

BTW, I talked to another recruiter at Prime and he sent my recruiter a message to get back with me. Hopefully I will hear from him tomorrow. I can be persistent, just don't want to be a pest..
