So today I did it. Went to Modular and accepted the job. I will begin orientation on December 4th but will do my inspection, road test and stuff tomorrow morning. Its a flatbed, steel hauling job so not 100% sure how I feel about it. After reading posts on here I think everything will be ok. Im a total greenhorn at this so its all going to be a huge learning experience for me. I had a shot at working for Schneider and also Falcon but it boiled down to Modular paying for 100% of my health, dental, and vision,You dont see that much anymore and I hope it stays that way. For now Ill enjoy that. and Falcon having such bad CSA scores and a bad reputation.
This is going to be different for me then the ###### warehouse supervisor job I had where we never get raises and was a dead end job. I put my 2 weeks notice in there this morning as well. It was bittersweet though because I loved everyone there. Gonna miss them but not the little pay and high insurance premiums.
If anyone has any flatbed tips I would love to hear them.
Thanks and I look forward to sharing my journey with you all for years to come.

Went in for my road test this morning with a pretrip and they wanted me to hook and unhook a trailer. Everything went great and Im officially hired. Ill start on December 4th. So far everyone at this company I have met seems to be happy and very friendly. I look forward to driving for them.

I talked to them a few years ago, concerning the cartage they do for Alro Steel. They sounded like a decent company, wasn't ready to move at the time.
Good luck, keep the updates coming! The Challenger and TroyD Thank this. -

Well it all becomes real this week. On Friday I got the welcome package in the mail. In it was all the insurance papers I have to fill out and a welcome letter. I have orientation on Wednesday and need to bring all that good stuff in with me filled out. Wednesday and Thursday is mainly some classroom type stuff learning company policy and also learning about log books and fun stuff like that. This company doesn't have elogs and said they don't plan on it until they are forced to lol.
Im getting real nervous now that its getting closer. Just cant wait to get out with my trainer and start this journey. The Challenger Thanks this. -
