    I don't know what area you're in but clean record and only $50k/year starting out? I've heard upwards of $55k+

    Wow, better stay where I'm at now making 70-75k, but driving plus physical, was hoping getting my cdl, and buying my own truck, leasing onto a carrier, it'll be an opportunity to make more money and have less physical stress on the body.

    It might be less physical stress on your body being a O/O but I can tell you right now its going to be WAY more mental stress then you've dealt with in your entire life.

    O/O can be tough sounds like, then some guys make it sound ok. I think it's a mindset, some Owner ops are business/drivers, and some guys are just truck drivers, at least that's how I see it, so it depends on which type of advice your looking for, asking a truck driver about, managing a maintenance account, filing paperwork, setting up and llc, they may be confused , and vice versa

    Yeah, but Its kicking my - ss, physically, that's why I wanted to buy my own truck , and at least lease onto a small carrier that pays decent percentage splits, where I can pick my own freight, I don't necessarily need my own Authority , but having my truck paid for and at least enough money in my maintenance account to rebuild the engine,(worst case scenario), I'll be able to make the same or more, without the physical stress, and the mental stress of managing a back office, which the carrier I plan to lease onto will have to do.

    sleeper teams are are and few between and take eons of seniority to get most of the time. Most guys on sleeper teams were making about 150k/yr from what they told me. In 15 years of driving for ups I only ever saw one and I was at a very large hub so that tells you how rare they are.

    @TROOPER to TRUCKER
    You're right. I'm not a big fan of thread hijacks like that, so I pulled out all of his posts in that thread and put them in his own thread.
