I am starting orientation in Lancaster, TX on Tuesday. I've been driving local for the past three years, so hopefully I can get back in the OTR routine. I was promised a $1,000.00 sign on bonus by the recruiter, and she said I would be making 0.38 a mile. Does anyone know about these sign on bonuses and starting pay rates? Did the recruiter tell me the truth? Thanks for any positive feedback.

Who was your recruiter? Were you given anything in writing or written in an email? I have never heard of anyone getting a signing bonus from Swift. I tried to copy/paste the current pay rates but it scrambles. To make .38cpm you would need 4 years with Swift and only run east of the Mississippi River although there are extras with short loads and dedicated accounts. Curious whether or not you will also getted kissed afterwards...

Mayra is my recruiter. I mentioned getting it in writing and she told me that I should get half on first check. I should get the other half after 60 days. She said if I didn't get it for me to call her and she will make sure I get it. She also said is something they just started giving out to experienced drivers. Thanks for the pay info.

I sure will. I read all the posts in this forum this week and I asked her a lot of questions. She seems pretty honest. It sucks though that Swift has taken all the info off the website.

Send me a PM when you get enough posts to do so and I'll try to paste it into a reply to you. It's on the Swift Drivers website which requires a driver's number as the sign on password. I have no idea why it has been concealed unless they were losing potential new hires to other companies over pay scales.
Swift is a good company to work for. I consistantly make decent money and have all the freight I want to haul or have the HOS to haul. I have a cool truck, 2010 Prostar, and a great driver manager and terminal that take good care of me. I drove in the early 70's but had to go through the entire route from school to mentor before I could solo. It was a good thing; everything has changed. I've been solo since the first week in February and have driven in 41 states so far.

I saw your pay scale page when you first posted it. I can't see it now, but I'm sure I'll see it in orientation. I'll keep you posted as too what happens next week.
