Happy easter to everyone. I got to see my kids with their baaskets and eggs on video this morning. Bummer but necessary evil. 124 hours down with a 34 hour reset can't drive until monday morning am. Then we will hit it hard. Shold be able to get close to 60 hours this week before sundays hometime. Shold be able to finish in two weeks minus nothing bad happening. Bored as hell though just sitting here watching. After shower in a hour or so I think I will settle into a dvd. Talk at you tomorrow
Just rolled out another 11 hour day but what is the saying when it rains it pours. Had a day today. Started out missing my exit leaving indy but no problem quick turn around back on track. Second oops was not following quallcomm direction and following GPS. Gps route would have worked except for it not being a truck route. Stung a little knew better GPS was quicker. Even had other directions in front of me. Won't do that again without first checking map. Then when I finally got to the pickup, backed In a little crooked. Just had to move over 6 inches but instead of going left six a little then right to straighten kept trying to ohh hell I didn't know what I was trying to do. All in all not a bad day everything worked out and nothing got broken but lessons learned. Hard headed people like me need to learn like this. Got to get some sleep.
Rug I was already told I was going on GLR. They opened up a local route out of milwaukee area but I live to far to justify the fuel to get there but what is the shuttle. Anyway I have completed 143 hours in 19 paid days. The 3 days I didn't drive are killing my average. Either way it leaves me 97 hours to go. I still have four driving days in this week before hometime. Shouldn't be a problem to get done by may 13th. Got to mess around with a funky 90 degree back with tight trailers on both sides with a mud surface. It was a killer the trailer kept sliding on the mud. Took about six tries to get it in there but I was proud when I did it without help. The yard dog took three shots when he was backing one in so I figured I did ok. That's about it. Looking forward to maybe getting my toes wet on GLR after hometime if they will let us change. Goodnight all.
They may have some 200-300 mi. runs that are usually 5 days a week with weekends off. I did that last week. I am doing a shorter shuttle run this week. I am filling in for sick drivers, and vacationing drivers. Hard to get on the list for full time.
Well another 11 hour driving day in the books after reset. 35 hours to play with until sat sometime for hometime. Nothing spectacular to talk about today. Seeing wife and kids rolled through my brain today and it was sunny with no rain but 30 mph winds.backups went fairly well today. I don't want to jinx myself but I think it is finally going to memory and getting a little easier. Should get some sleep got another long one from bloomington minn to beatrice neb tomorrow after live load. Mentor bought me supper again for getting over 6200 miles this week and he has been averaging 6 hours behind the wheel and for the 3rd straight day of over 620 miles for me. Night all sleepytime.
Got another 11 in today. That leaves me with 73 to go. Should get at least one more good day in tomorrow then we will see if when they get us home on saturday. I believe my average is 7.96 hours of driving per paid day. Not trying to set records but if they are going to through me bones like that I have to take them. Should be able to finish in five weeks which will allow me to attend my wifes marathon. nothing real exciting today except they changed our plan twice today in mid drive. I ended up in the same drop yard twice today. Both with 3.5 hour drives. Was a little bummed though nebraska was supposed to be 70 and sunny today not 50 and cloudy. That's all I can think of. Sorry if this is boring to some but my wife logs in and let's the kids know what I have been up to. Nite all
Just a quick update. I have currently 62 hours left in training. I am on hometime until tuesday morning. Out for 12 days this next round but should be done in 6 days. Not sure what will happen then. Lots of scenerios bouncing around. My mentor will call when I get within 10 hours and found out if there are trucks available and if they can send me out for final test. Without sending me home and waiting. Sad part is I would rather stay on truck and drive then sit waiting at terminal. Or atleast know if I have to chase one. Git to nake kids breakfast
sitting at home today probably out early in am back on Toro for my last remaining 62 hours. Not work related but stressful enough I get to build bat houses with 7 children ranging from 2 to 7 today and then feed them supper by myself while the mothers go to a spa afternoon. mothers day presents for the mothers from the children. side note my wife and friends wanted bat houses not the other way around. I think after this afternoon i waiil want to get back in the truck. wish me luck
