When u get to des moines dnt be and idiot watcvh what you say around people. there are rats in the world. anyone would do anything to get ahaead. keep your head up and be confident. they like that.. ask alot of questions. if u dnt think u understand anything ASK dnt be a #####. dnt be stressed out dnt \let them scare you. if you keep your head up the 2 wks at orientation is easy just do what you are told and dnt givwe them #### for it. i had aq guy in my class get booted for gving them ####... the 1st two wks for tmc is to weed out the weaks ones be strong dont give up and u will do fine. make sure u bring enough food. all u get is lunch for free... rest is up to you... if u have a laptop then bring it for your entertainment.... any questions feel free to ask
so far for me tmc was the way to go -
Sounds like they brought more from the military than I thought hammer.
The back stabbing is huge there also. It is just called politics though.
More in the officer corps but it is in the enlisted as well. -
During my two weeks at orientation, I didn't see any backstabbing at all. However my trainer used a huge dagger, but that is a different story. Like Hammer said, orientation is tough, but it is for a reason...trucking isn't for everyone. They are very strict on their rules because if you can't follow simple rules, you won't make it driving a truck. I lost half of my class mostly to medical and criminal problems, but there were a few who couldn't drive (how they got past school is a wonder) and some quit on their own. One guy quit because he got into a very heated arguement with the simulator operator over something stupid and thought he was going to get fired because of it. When the training leader heard about it the next day he said the guy wouldn't have been let go because he was actually a good driver.
Just be confident, work hard, and keep your nose clean. Remember, this is a two week job interview, not summer camp.
