Orientation is done. Got my truck assignment. A 2013 Kenworth T660 w/ 104.3 miles on it. Cummins engine, tri-pac apu unit & inverter. Majority of our trucks are 10 speed manual transmissions (there are a few automatics). All trucks have APU's. (Carrier & Thermoking tri-pac units). So far things seem good here.

I came to Henderson w/ experience, so I will be going out on my own later today. Most of the trainees in my class were saying that they would be w/ a trainer for 9 to 12 weeks. As for teaming, I would suggest you and your brother talk to a recruiter. You both would go thru orientation and then spend time w/ a trainer. Not too sure on pay, etc for teams that wasn't covered in orientation. I do know that they are starting to haul hazmat, so getting that endorsement will help you and your brother. Will post more later. Until then stay safe everyone.

Hometime is based on 1 day home for every 6 days out up to 4 days off. More time than that would have to be approved by operations. Since they don't have a yard close to where I live, I get to take the truck home.

Do you know if the drivers that go out whith trainers get home time during the 9 to 12weeks or do they just drop them off in some hotel?

Not sure how the hometime works while w/ a trainer. That would be something to ask a recruiter about.
