Anything you purchase and pay for, will be refunded if you quit. Henderson issues these super duty collapsible load locks. Much better than what you can buy at the Pilot. I can't say I blame them. Unfortunately there are enough people who will resort to selling things like that.

I sure remember the "good" old days of pining away in Denver for at least 2-3 days. When things were lean. To this day I don't like to go there, because I have flashbacks about getting stuck.

The APU issue....I would just ask shop where you can have it fixed on the road. The with the heat where you are you can't wait till you hit the shop in Caseyville. I blew a belt in the hottest week of the summer. Truck won't idle, and I won't sleep in the heat. Can't get rest that way. Got 3 hotels for the following 3 nights until I made it to yard. They would have fixed it on the road, but I tried for several hours to find the belt, and apparently every other APU had crapped out in a 5 state radius for the same problem and none where to be had.

Henderson is not perfect. Their pay is decent. Get to keep my dog with me and they fix the equipment when it breaks down.

I-80Trucker, LibbynD and g.o.a.l Thank this.

Henderson has quite a few teams. Several of my friends run as a team. I have in the past myself here. Miles are good, pay is really good.

You will both have to go out with a trainer. After that you can team. That simple. If you don't like it, you can get into separate trucks. Don't flip flop too often, but they will accommodate you within reason.

    I-80Trucker Thanks this.

Yes, i have heard the same about the Henderson. Trainers are great and they create good team spirit and also boost your confidence a lot.

Hello everyone! Well I talked with a recruiter today Brandy is her name at Henderson. I told her I would get back to her with an answer today. Do they bring you to orientation then go threw all your application stuff? Or did they already look threw my stuff and know they want to hire me? I don't have anything questionable on my app but it makes me wonder if this is a company that is going to get me to Caseyville and if things don't work out send me back home on my own dime? I've been unemployed for 6 months, money is kind of tight to be putting out for a bus, train or plane ticket? This will be my first orientation in 6 years. Kind of nervous about the whole deal. 1az are you out and running or still sitting at home?

Henderson will pay your way to orientation and put you up in a hotel. Make sure to take at least 10 years worth of employment history w/ you. As you will have to fill out an actual app during orientation (they're required by DOT to have an actual app w/ your real signature on it.) As far as I know they run your DAC, criminal history, etc before you get to orientation. Just make sure you have enough money to get you thru til direct deposit kicks in since your 1st check is mailed to your house. Also be prepared to sign up for payroll deduction to pay for your loadlocks (2 @ $50 each), ratchet style load strap (1 @ $12), glad hand lock (1 @ $34.99), 1 air cuff lock ($60 +/-). You will get reimbursed when you quit if they're returned. As for me, I'm still sitting at home. Been here since Friday am. Have tried to get ahold of dispatch to find out why I'm still sitting w/ no luck. As they don't believe in answering the phone. They don't get my qc msgs so phone is the only way I have to reach them. I was actually offered a job yesterday driving locally. $18/ hour to start, 40+ hrs/week..

You should take that job local job ..
If they can't answer the phone and give you some sort of common curiosity then I wouldn't have a problem bolting on them .. Just be sure if you did you do it the correct way by returning the equipment to the terminal of their choice etc .. And make your self a reciept for everything turned in cause they may try to burn your DAC ( not saying they will ) but CYOA in all cases in trucking for sure ..

A local gig in this economy if it's a stable company is a good get right now .. Lots of OTR guys would love to turn in long haul for that

Good luck to you 1azsupertrucker Thanks for the info on Henderson. I hope I'm not going to make a mistake hearing you sitting for 5 days straight. I don't blame you for grabbing that local spot. If it wasn't for my wife wanting to try out doing teams I'd either be looking local or a different career all together. Take care!
