Sat thru a hazmat certification and log training today...was conducted by a cdl school instructor...Monday I get some training on driving at the yard since I don't know jack squat about shifting and double clutching. Then from there I road test at that same cdl school. If I don't pass, I get recommended to their 2 week driving program.....

It's cool bro, all the training and stuff is very informative and second to none..I'm getting paid for it anyway...even putting in 10 plus hours a day just in training. ..and we get fed for lunch everyday....and we talking bout good food. .One thing I did notice about Halliburton is that they don't put up with crap. Ure on time your late. U didn't shave, write up. Ure not wearing ure ppe, write up....Some people think they working at mcds and try to get away with crap and complain....

I bet. They are spending a lot of money and would probably want the employees to take it very serious. And plus safety reasons

That's something that should be mentioned here. If you want to get ahead and be known as a good hand, do what is asked of you without complaint and try to learn as much as possible. The first few months are going to suck as a new hand. It's like this for everyone. You will be the guy that gets the crappy jobs and everyone tells you what to do. Stick it out and before you know it you will be accepted. If you are a complainer or spend your time trying to get out of work, you will have a very hard time.

I am very excited, I start orientation tomorrow and very nervous too :) I'll keep you guys updated on my training and also my fit test was nothing close to what you guys did. Didn't even do the situps or the mask thing. But I did see other guys there from other companies doing different things like you guys.

So I was off this past weekend. Came back today, had to take my tankers endorsement exam first thing in the am and passed. They train you at the yard with a tanker truck and take the road test in a tanker truck...was told my rotation for the time being is 11/3. Drove around the yard learned how to double clutch. ..

By the way, even on this rotation, I'll be on call....
