I am new to this site and the trucking world. I read some of these posts, lots of useful information here and advice and also some bad pointers maybe.
To the person who posted the coment about starting off with Schneider, I have been considering them for some time now. Without trying to sound rash or rude, I was curious if I may inquire, what made you go from working with Schneider to Trans Am trucking and out of those 2 companies, if you would care to eleborate some differences, both good and bad.
Any would help and be greatly appreciated. Thanks

my husband drove over the road for a few yyears and then we moved to Georgia. He found a local driving job where he could come home every night. I have gotten my Class B as a bus driver. I am also a driver trainer for my shop. Problem is we are about to starve to death! My husband is more than ready to get back out on the big road. I would have to be trained. My fear is that I probably cant lift a 120lb tarp anymore. As a novice where should this partner combonation start out? I dont want to work in a sotuation where I couldnt pull my weight. I dont want to over work him to make up for limitations. Suggestions please.

have 2 years otr experience and in late 2008 i was injured and have been unable to work and on disability since then because of my back.
No back surgery, Just fractured a few vertebra.
I got doctors clearence to return to work last month and everything is healed up with no lingering effects and nothing that would stop me from preforming any of the job duties required as a driver.
I was just woundering how that will effect my chances to get back into trucking and get hired?
Ive contacted a few companies (werner, swift, prime, cr england, ffe and a few others aswell) and they go by my work record and dont take the injury into account when it comes to why i havent been working or abile to since then.
Any advise on what i should do? -
