    Sharp Dressed Man,

I ended up with a 2011 International Prostar with a 10 Speed transmission and Maxforce engine and it has 172,500 miles on it as of now. I was taken down to Memphis by PTL to pick up the truck. They gave me $75 for that ride. It had not been cleaned. I had to clean it and because I picked it up in Memphis I was not paid to clean it. If you recover a deserted truck you get money to clean it but that is between Kevin in operations and you. As far as relaxing and windows. Plan to work 14 hours a day if you intend to make money. You are going to take 10 hours a day off regardless and there is nothing anyone can do about it. A good day is with a trailer that isn't broken, at least 500 miles driven, a shower, dinner and a good night of (or day) sleep. There are drivers here who have decided they don't drive at night. I don't know how they make a living but hey, whatever floats their boat. Like I said earlier in this forum. No driver is going to make a decent living playing the cherry machines in the truck stops. STAY OUT OF THEM! Fuel, shower and get back on the road!

    Hope this helps.

    God Bless,
    Fr. Adam

BTW. I am trying to be as honest and objective as possible in my account of my time with PTL. Keeping my own emotions out of my reports is something I am working very hard to do. I probably won't say much about the trailers from this point forward unless I come up with something that works well for me. It is what it is. Other than that ONE issue I am having a very hard time finding any of the garbage I have read about PTL. What I have found to this point is a serious company ran by serious people looking for serious drivers to do a serious job. It may be my background, my upbringing or my age. I dunno but as long as the miles are there and I get home reasonably close to when I ask for home time I am good. Two and a half months almost into it with the exception of the lost time with trailers, PTL has given me what I want. Now, if they would just allow me to take my sons with me over the summer one at a time I would be happier than I have ever been with a trucking company as long as the miles stayed up. I appreciate everyone's interest in this forum and I will try and do a better job at getting updates now that I have a good mobile web connection.

Oh! I also got my scanner/copier/printer/fax working! I now Transflo my paperwork from the truck as of yesterday. I'm kind of a tech nerd so I'm pretty excited about that.

    Until next time...

Most of this is drivers or trailers. Nothing to do with how the company treats the driver. The company safety record has nothing to do with why people are crying they got or are getting mistreated somehow. I will agree the CSA scores are bad and drivers are getting ticketed for stupidity. How is a dumb or lazy driver to the company's fault though? Let's keep it on topic. I started this thread to report about my time with PTL not look for every reason outside of the driver/company relationship to bash them. I will report on the negative as well as the positive.

Again, I can't help what other drivers are doing. That is not what this thread is about. I would appreciate it if you started your own thread about PTL's CSA scores and let this discussion stay on subject.

Down until Monday with an ABS problem on a trailer. Picked it up last (Friday) night. Had to wait until the techs got in at 8am. No dice. Have to take it to the trailer shop and they are closed until Monday AM.

Hi fr. Adam, I am enjoying your posts about PTL. I'm interested in them because like you I aready have my CDL from a while back and i'm looking for a company that will do a refresher instead of making me go back through school again and charging me for it. I don't really have any experience so I would still need to be trained.

Do they still send you out with someone for a while? If so how long? How much are you paid when out with someone else? How much is the pay per week as a solo driver averaging? Do you run all 48 states or do they keep you in certain zones? What was the orientation like? Do they do the physical/ drug test during orientation or do you get that done before you go? Hair or urine test? (No i'm not a druggie) Sleep apnea test? Do they allow inverters? APU's? Idling policy? Do they allow animals or have a rider policy?

I know thats a lot of questions but you are about the only person on here that is giving info about them. So it would be nice to get as much info as we can out here.

Thanks for the info you have gave so far.
