Just be as you are and take your time. Is this your first time in a truck?

Regarding Roehl CDL training school.... on their website it list a very reasonable cost, but did I read correctly that room n board are NOT included in that cost?

What is the deal for staying up there? What does it cost to stay for the entire time?

I think it was $350 on top of the $2400 that covered room and board. I know it was less than $500 and that covered the entire time you were there.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing. Have not heard much about the experiences the women have out there. I start school on May 1. Getting anxious to get it going.

he is right about the $350 for apt. + food if you stay with Roehl for one yr. you do not pay anything , if you quit its prorated for how ever long you worked w/ Roehl which 3wks class is $2400. and its a lot better then other training places its 1/2 the cost and if you quit w/ other comps. you will pay the whole tuition.

She's in orientation or whatever and since she hasn't responded yet, I will... She's been in a truck plenty. Her dad is a 20+yr driver and she's been with him, plus, she spent about 6mo(maybe more) with Werner. If nothing else atoll, she now knows what a bad company is like. Not that all Werner is bad, but they have some pretty horribly uneducated dispatchers, many of whom have never driven. And the "new or close to new" equipment is ragged in many cases. Werner still owes her money and she's been gone about a month already. I only know all this because she teamed with me for Werner.:biggrin_2556: If she likes Roehl, I may go there(if they'll have me).:biggrin_25517:

If I might comment about Dispatchers who have never driven:

At times, I think they might be preferable to a Dispatcher who says things like, "I drove for 20 years and I never made that mistake. How could you have done something that stupid? Why didn't you do (insert super-trucker solution here) instead?"

Give me the dunderhead Dispatcher that has never driven before. At least for a few months so I can evaluate the difference between these two.
