In lieu of the rather heated response that I originally posted, I will apologize if the lack of political correctness of "less than ideal" offended anybody. The statement was not a personal attack toward any individual but rather a blanket statement based on the overall whiny tone that the great majority of negative Roehl post seem to have. I will say, however, that I have every right to form my own opinions as I see fit and would not personally be so self-righteous as to tell anybody else how form theirs. Do not assume that I am also naive enough to believe everything that a recruiter tells me. I learned that lesson after enlisting in the military, and after four years of being lied to on a daily basis as military law enforcement I am an expert on deciphering fact from BS. Thanks for your well wishes, Homeboy. Rumandcoke123, don't choke; it's not that serious.

I was just wondering if you guys going up there from Florida, and especially you thundermunky, have experience in driving or are going as students? I had talked to Roehl a few months ago while I was still living in Clearwater and when I asked if they hired from my area I was told no. I am now living in Spring Hill and was wondering if it might be worth getting back in touch with them and seeing what they say. I was planning on moving to SC in a couple of months and getting a job once I moved up there, but if I could get on while living here I'd probably just stay put.

I live in Spring Hill, go'n as student and they said national only for me only because there is no dropyard here. The nearest one i think is Jacksonville and you can only live about 100 miles away. Also I think I'm right on the boarder of there hiring area.

I went thru RDTC in October. I am in the national van fleet. I am also on the honor program. I have been running solo since the beginning of December. I have been thru all sorts of weather and a few types of mechanical breakdowns. I had to deal with a complete jerk of a dispatcher upon completion of EVOIII. I told the powers to be that I couldn't work with him and they switched me that day. I have never sat longer than 3 hours waiting for another load after my empty call. There have been times when I have been upset at Roehl, but I remember that everything has a down side and I take it with a grain of salt. Roehl has messed up my pay a few times but always resolved it right away. I have found that if you act like a hot headed jerk then that is how you will be treated back. I learned that long before i got into trucking, that is a life lesson. The one thing that does bother me about trucking is you always run into people like "homeboy" in truck terminals that complain about everything and just spout off about how bad thier companies are. I just shake my head and walk away. I think Roehl has a good idea about the honor program. For the most part veterans are hard working discipline people. We are used to extended times away from home and having to work by ourselves and make good decisions without supervision. The only advise I give you, is when you encouter someone that is just complaining and whining walk away. Do not give them a audience. Associate with better people and you will do better.

Well, I sent Roehl and email to see if they'd hire me now that I'm in Spring Hill. Now it's just time to play the waiting game and see what they say.
