    Hey y'all. I'm starting Swift Academy next Monday, 9/13, in Millington, TN and was wondering if anyone else here was gonna be there. Also wondering if anyone that has been there has any advice or experience to share as far as this school is concerned. I am really excited to be starting CDL training and embarking on a new adventure and career. Trucking is something I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember and thanks to this site I feel I have as good an idea as I can as to what I am signing up for. There is a huge wealth of knowledge here and I thank all those that come here to offer advice to others. Without all of you, I would be running blind which would make it much more difficult.

    Nana, haven't we talked to you about that "freak" thing?:biggrin_25523:

    Fewe: I was at the academy in Millington from May 24, or thereabouts, to June 7, or thereabouts. My memory's faded about the exact dates but I'm nearly certain that it was Swift and that it was Millington. I've been a Swift solo company driver for a bit over a month now so my faculties are failing.

    Seriously though, I'll be happy to answer any questions you have that I have factual answers to about Millington. There are several other members of this board who have been there recently and one or two who are there now. And I think those guys/gals did it sober!:biggrin_2559:

    No real specific questions as I haven't actually been there yet. Any heads up or is everything fairly straight forward... seems to be so far. I have been following both of your posts and have found them to be quite helpful. Hopefully I will get the chance to meet up with you somewhere along the way and thank you in person, but until then, Thank You.

    eta: Actually I thought of one question about lunch. Is it feasible to bring lunch with me or is buying lunch the only choice?

    First and best advice I can give you is.....no matter what, get up the next day and get back out there. Some days you'll feel good or at least okay about your performance/learning for the day. Some days you'll wonder if you're the dumbest person that ever climbed into a big rig. You cannot possibly be the dumbest.....I hold that title! And, today I'm driving, surviving and lovin' it. :biggrin_25514:
