I have 2 860’s ordered, both highly spec’d. Both are in the upper $160’s, not including the warranties. They are at two separate dealers, one who had a build slot late this year I was able to get and the other through my normal dealer that will be a ‘23 built sometime next year.

I have a 2020 Mack Anthem in the fleet as well, and the 860 interior is hands down better. I’d go with a T680 all day over the Anthem if you want to stay in that mid $150’s price range.

If you need a good Volvo Dealer referral, send me a PM.

Off topic sort of, I do have a 2020 T680 with 200k miles I’d sell for around $115k. 13spd Auto, Cummins 525hp, diamond VIT interior, etc.

Good God almighty. First I heard of that. Not good. I guess they figure accelerated depreciation is enough incentive to upgrade.

So with the capital gains change. You basically have to take extra depreciation the first year to cover the taxes paid on the gain from old Truck. That sucks.

If you sell privately, under your own name. (as opposed to an LLC), do you have to pay taxes on the sale and/or if you sell at a loss, can you write off the loss? (Estimated value vs Sale price).
Is it a capital gain or loss?

I’m not the one to ask about taxes. I only recently found out gains from depreciated equipment is taxed as income, since it was used to avoid tax on income. All I know is typically equipment can be depreciated down to 20% of original cost. Used to be 3 or 5 yrs schedule, whatever you choose. Not long ago they started accelerated depreciation, 2 yrs or sooner, maybe up to all in first yr. I’m not sure. Basically if you pay $100k, write off 80k in 4 yrs. you’re out of depreciation. Sell for any more than 20k, and extra is considered income. As far as Capital gains is concerned, I don’t know. Always thought it was considered Capital gains myself. I learned on here, I was wrong. I pay an Accountant for all that. Well worth the fee. Waiting on my Federal refund now, thanks to her. Been out of depreciation for years. Don’t need it. Plenty of deductions. I guess when I sell my Equipment it will be considered income. Depending on how much I get. Won’t be much.

I apologize. Somehow I missed this.

I paid 149,000 for trucks the last 2 yrs but these trucks building this week and next week are 152,500 and that includes 5 yr 500k Cummins warranty with tow. That’s a $5500 value.

My local dealer wants 162k or more for the same truck though so finding the right deal does pay off. I buy from 800 miles away and either drop ship to my yard to this year going to pick up in Chillicothe.

Im going to order two for next spring here in a few days. I’ll get back with pricing. These new body updates and digital dash is what raised the price on these current two. Well see what inflation has done for 2023’s.

Trust me I know but sadly it’s the truth. It’s not going to happen, it already has.

Just read that the infrastructure bill passed in the senate says that nanny sensors and automatic braking must be installed on all new trucks within 2 yrs.

I don’t equip any of that stuff on mine, what a load of crap.

Side note but someone had posted on TTR that it also includes all car manufacturers to put alcohol sensors in the new vehicles within two years.

Sure seems like a lot of hand holding to me. Thoughts?
