Hello all,
I am currently scheduled for Millis training at Cartersville Ga on 5 July. I just wanted to say a quick hello to you all and looking forward to training. Lastly, I really appreciate you all taking the time to post blogs on this site helping me with making this decision. Any feedback on the school there would be appreciated, stay safe and hopefully I will be meeting you all soon!

Congrats getting accepted to Millis.leatherneck91 Thanks this. -
Hey - and welcome aboard. You will absolutely love Greg (the trainer). He knows what he's talking about and you will learn tons from him.
Dont push his buttons because he'll let you have it if you screw up but also the first to pat you on the back when you do good. So listen, take notes, follow his lead and you'll do just fine.leatherneck91 Thanks this. -
Best of luck during your training. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I will probably be down that way the weekend following the 4th. Maybe will bump into you sometime.

Well today was training day 3 today and am really enjoying myself! I have Greg as my instructor and he is really knowledgable and very receptive to newbie questions which is great!
Day 1 was a tremendous amount of paperwork and verification of all required qualifications!
Day 2 we got knee deep into route planning and familiarization of the RMMC Atlas. Videos on various topics that were very informative that assisted with setting the foundation of getting snapped into this profession.
Today Day 3 we were introduced to the proper techniques of upshifting and downshifting, and though I initially thought I may do well in this area once in the truck, I was humbled very quickly when the gears began to grind. With that said, I did see an improvment in my shifting abilities by the end of the day as we made our way around the Cartersville 500 track. Hey... that's what they call it.....doing all of 10 MPH...at best...But still fun and challenging nonetheless...
I will try my best to keep you all in the loop as I progress through my training.

Well today was training day 5 and I found out that I could not back as easy as I thought I could. Straigtline backing was easy but took me a couple of times to get the parallel parking down pat. After a few tries I was doing better. Tomorrow we will have several different stations with different senarios set up at each station. Alley, straightline, parallel so should be be alot of fun and challenging. I just hope to improve each day! I will talk to you all later...Wish me luck!
