I live in Arizona so Knight and Roehl, Swift, CRE England.etc Im looking into getting into fuel and hazmat but have no problem starting from anywhere just because Im going to take advantage of the Paid Training. Ive heard good things from Knight and Roehl Im looking for a more like 14 on 7 off or a 7/7. After a year or so I want to work in Alaska running Oil Or ND, A friend of mine does that now. So what company would you suggest. Somewhere I can get a CDL "A" . I know Knight pays 400/week training and Roehl Is 450/week. What would be the best.

You wont make any money taking that kind of time off. lookup Schnider.

If those companies you listed are your only choices it'd be a tie between Knight and Roehl. Definitely dont go to England (read threads here).

Those were the shifts that they said you would work. I'll look up Schneider

They have a tanker division. Also prime has a good training program and they pay very well. They have flatbed division and a reefer/food tank division.

    To answer that question.....

Play lottery. Win lottery. Use money to research and develop something that everyone would pay $20 for. Become a billionaire. Buy Schneider, CR England, US Express and maybe a few other trucking companies. Pay drivers next to nothing and live like a king the rest of your life.

He is not denying those would be the shifts but that you wouldn't make much money. That is a fact. Now there is nothing evil in the plan, to some it works. But most experienced OTR drivers who value money don't work at Roehl or Knight and the don't take a week off every 2 weeks. I am not saying that they are bad companies, simply that they can't and don't want to compete with other non training companies. So of course they offer these kind of hometime plans.
If you want to haul tanks for a living though why look at dry van companies?

You need to ensure that the 14/7 7/7 applies to students who received thier CDL from the company. But again I must warn you. At the starting pay of a starter company you won't make much if you run a month straight. Taking a week off that often will ha e you at the poverty line.

If you want my advice take out a loan and get your CDL on your own. Most companies offer tuition reimbursement. Failing that then run hard and long to keep your pay up. Do your year and jump to a better job.
