Be advised,,when you take company training, you are obligated to repay it. Those companies require you stay on board for 2 yrs? to offset training costs. If you move on,,expect to get a bill.
also if you train at a driving school, don't expect reimbursement in a lump sum..expect more like $25 a week.
    Good luck driver..

If you only look at CPM (cents per mile) you end up being at a company who offers .70 a mile and only 300 miles a week.

Thank you, I see that most companies are starting at like 33 to 36 cpm, don't see how you can make a living unless maybe you get 2500 miles a week.

Why don't you find a school that doesn't charge a lot of money to get your cdl, borrow the money, and then look at newspaper or craigslist or other starting jobs. Maybe the school that you get your cdl from has info on companies they know that can get you a job

Or you can go tanker and start at .45 plus. So many people seem to think that all trucking is a van. I make .60 cpm, 2700 miles a week on average. Do a year tanking somewhere and then apply for Trimac and you will be making that too.

Funny "answer". Doesn't help this guy with his question.

Maybe it's funny. Maybe it's not. Each reader will have his/her own opinion.

And to say it doesn't help, well, I gave my opinion of the best place to start. Others are giving their's. And every reply given has been just that, opinion. There is no factual answer to the OP's question. So, how does my answer not help? To answer that, you have to form your own opinion.

I have formed an opinion, it does not realistically help answer the guy's question. If you think it does, well like you said, it's your opinion.
